5 Reasons to BEGIN our Krav Maga Home Study Course NOW

It’s finally here, after a several years of curriculum preparation, teaching thousands of Krav Maga classes (in my own facility, and of friends’ schools), and development – the TOTAL Krav Maga Home Study Course. Yes, you can earn REAL RANK and CERTIFICATION in krav maga at home. No, this is not a joke, belt factory, or anything of the sort.
But first, let me give you 5 Really Good Reasons to BEGIN in Krav Course NOW:
1. Krav Maga is Extremely Useful in Real Life
Although I have loved and enjoyed my Karate, TKD, and weapons training – I have never felt more SAFE and empowered than while doing krav maga. Beating the snot out of your partner’s head (who has safety gear on…), busting knees into B.O.B, tearing out an assailant’s gun and popping in a fresh load as you open up a gap.
The art is brutal, aggressive, and real. This just means that your training has a real and obvious goal. To create more awareness, feel more confident, and build up defense reflexes. Our home study course also accomplishes these goals, as long as the student puts in the effort.
2. You will Get into REALLY Good Shape (while actually learning)
No, not treadmill shape. Not jogging outside shape, or even hitting the weights shape. I am talking hammer-fist-to-the-head 45 times in a row, 4-knee-strikes, 15 push ups, and then-disarming-a-knife-shape. The ‘At Home Training Classes’ DVD included with the course will work you out. The “Krav Maga Workout” DVD in the course includes 2 full, 25 minute workouts. I challenge you to stay with me at my level of speed and intensity throughout the entire workout. And then tell me it did not work you out. (if so, I *bow* to you)
3. Earn Actual Rank and Certification (get rewarded and recognized)
Like all of our home study courses, our Krav Maga course offers you the ability to earn real rank/certification. Just like earning your belts in Karate, Judo, or whatever styles (you may or may not have trained in), you get this same experience. But, don’t expect it to be easy. I actually expect MORE from my home study students, as I do not get to practice with them in person. Remember, you can purchase the course and practice alone – but you MUST have a partner in your level certification exams for testing. Krav Maga is a contact art – having a training partner and physical practice is a must for mastery.
4. You have something BENEFICIAL & FUN to Do with Your Spouse (and/or children)
In my martial arts academy, I have the most couples training together in the Krav Maga program. I have many men who were training in our original traditional arts course, who have now convinced their wife to come on board for Krav classes. Women seem to love the idea of kicking guys in the groin and poking them in the eyes (finger strikes). Just kidding…ok, not really. But the point is, krav maga self defense is EVEN MORE important for women to know, as they are statistically more likely to be in an attack. And, you can have your children practicing at home with you. Remember, this will give you a great training partner, and everyone in your family can actually earn real rank together.
5. You Can finally add the Israeli Flag patch on your Gi.
Hah! Ok, I am only half-joking here…. But really, it is a lot of fun to expand your horizons. Learn a new art, to experience the ideas of different cultures. And, I am making a reference to this ‘flag concept’, because my instructors’ school has an American Flag, Japanese Flag, and Korean Flag on the wall. Also, we would have these flag patches on our gi. Now you can add an Israeli patch on your gi! (yes, I realize this is oxymoronic, no hate mail here, please).
The TOTAL Krav Maga Home Study Course
The get started, simply purchase the Complete Home Study Course. This includes 5 complete training DVDs (combatives, self defense, weapons, home classes, and workouts), the home study manual, and your official enrollment in the course. From there, follow the training plan, film your certification exam with your partner. I will review your exam in great detail and send back feedback, critiques, and your certificate if you pass. You then move on to the next level.
Let me know in the Comments sections. Is anyone here excited about Krav Maga? I look forward to training you soon! –Michael Hodge
Great idea! I am from South Africa and would love to do the course.
Joseph, thanks for that! Yes, we are very excited about this course. After working with students for over 5 years in our Karate, Chuks, and Bo programs – we have found that our home study method really does work. And, I have been teaching Krav Maga now for near 4 years in my school, and wanted to take it to the world. I would love to have you on board, I have one other student from South Africa as well. Just purchase the program as soon as you can and we can get started! -Michael
Joseph, go for it! I am from South Africa (from Durban) and am enrolled in the Krav Maga course (DVD and online) though I am here in China. Well worth the money and it is a good quality course with lots of help or support along the way. You have nothing to lose. 🙂
Alright mate, Graeme from Yukon Canada! I’m a qualified PT and coach, swimming, gymnastics, boxercise, kicboxercise etc I love teaching! I am currently completing a self defence course which is ok but a lot weaker than Krav thats for sure. Im experienced in Judo and kickboxing and wondered what teaching opportunities one of your students could attain to? I also wondered who accredits your courses for example who would recognize my krav/ Karate grades are they recognized in Israel?
To finish mate I think your site is awesome, Ill be getting a course in due course lol.
All the best!
G
Hi Graeme,
Whoa, you sure do teach alot, I am sure you are very passionate about helping others reach a personal best. Our governing body is an official martial arts organization which is recognized in the United States and Internationally. We currently do offer an instructor certification program for the Karate course. But, our Krav program only allows a student to obtain an intermediate level certification, not a full instructor level. This is because to reach an advanced level of Krav understanding, human contact, and in person instruction is extremely important. But, our Krav Maga course is an excellent way to lay a strong foundation and have a full set of training solo or with a partner. Looking forward to hearing from you in due time, do let me, lol.
Cheers, Michael

Hi,
How far in the grading can I go with this course?
What colour belt will it take me to?
Is this grading / certification recognized by the Wingate Institute in Israel (official KM body)?
I’m looking at several online courses at the moment and want to ensure that I choose the correct one that will be recognized.
Thanx,
Alon
Hi Alon,
I am so sorry for the late reply! I was out of town visiting schools for two weeks straight and have been off kilter a bit. You can grade up to 1st black belt in our Krav Maga course. The grading/certification is not particularly recognized through the Wingate Institute. You would want to train with the institute directly to be a part of their association. However, we do teach Krav Maga, and have the same curriculum and execution standards. Our lineage does go straight back to the founder of KM. Let us know how else we can help out! Thanks, Michael
It is a outstanding course. I will be taking my level 1 test very soon. A knee injury has delayed it but I will be back at in a couple of weeks.
Tom, Thanks for that comment. Glad your training is going well. Injuries can be really annoying, I know how you feel. Nurse your knee back to health with an overall lower impact style of fitness, with slow motion Krav practice, which will allow you to continue ingraining the movements into your musculature, without the wear and tear. Looking forward to your Level 1 test soon! -Michael
Does this krav maga course after passing my test allow me teach as certified level 1 krav instructor?
That is a great question. Once you pass the Level 1 test, you are a certified level 1 Krav Maga practicioner/yellow belt. This does not automatically mean that you are ready to teach krav, but rather that you know krav yourself. It is just like earning a yellow belt in karate, it does not make you an instructor, but you, as the student have completed the requirements. We do have a Krava Maga Instructor Certification in the works (should be available later in 2015), which will teach you how to be an instructor, class management, cycle of instruction, class planning, and much more. We are going to let Level 3 students and above take the instructor course, and they can received a probationary/temporary certificate. This will allow you to teach and rank your own students up to the level of your current rank in Krav Maga. Let me know if that makes sense, or if there is another way that I can help out!
I am preparing for my black belt test in aikido and ran across this program to supplement my training and make me a better martial artist.
I am trying to open a school in the Oklahoma City metro area soon, if anyone is interested.
Glad you found us, a black belt in aikido is a unique and impressive accomplishment. Cross-training in other martial arts always makes you a better martial artist, and in turn, instructor. You should connect with your grading instructor Mr. South, the Total Krav Maga instructor. He runs National Martial Arts in South OKC, one of the top martial arts schools in the metro area. Good luck on your test and enjoy the krav training!
I believe i want to teach Krav Maga to my family only. I will know their true intentions. Yes I want to master Krav Maga as well as Muay Thai. Also the Native America War Arts.I believe in living in peace with all mankind. It is good to have a back up in real martial arts.Peace to all.
