This secret locale lets you leave the everyday behind, and step into a heightened state of focus and discipline. There are many practical aspects as well. Such as having a matted floor for takedowns, joint relief, ground work, etc. Having space for mirrors, which give you a vantage point and visual aide when studying your own faults. Displaying flags, emblems, and other symbols out of respect and honor to your art and lineage. And, having enough space to swing around weapons such as the bo, nunchakus, and tonfa – without breaking a lamp in the living room.
